Terms and conditions

FrenSta Car Rental provides the selected vehicle to the renter/driver in accordance with the following rental terms and conditions.

Security Deposit

Drivers under the age of 21 are required to provide a €300 cash security deposit upon vehicle collection.

No security deposit is required for drivers over the age of 21, subject to the Company’s applicable rental terms.

Driver Responsibilities

The driver is responsible for taking proper care of the vehicle throughout the rental period and for regularly checking its general mechanical condition, including engine oil, coolant, tyres, and the vehicle’s safe operation.

Upon collection, the driver must inspect the vehicle both inside and out and report any existing damage, which will be recorded in the rental agreement.

Rental Payment

Upon collecting the vehicle, the driver is required to pay the rental fee, any additional charges specified in the rental agreement, as well as any extra charges that may arise upon the vehicle’s return.

Vehicle Return

The vehicle must be returned at the agreed time and location to a Company representative. In the event of a late return, the driver shall be responsible for any additional charges or compensation that may arise.

Fines & Traffic Violations

The driver is solely responsible for all traffic fines, parking violations, illegal parking charges, and any administrative penalties resulting from violations of the Greek Highway Code.

If a fine remains unpaid, the Company reserves the right to charge the amount of the fine together with a €15.00 administration fee.

Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as it had upon collection.

If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the driver will be charged for the difference. No refund will be given if the vehicle is returned with more fuel than originally supplied.

Rental Extension

If the driver wishes to extend the rental period, they must contact the Company in advance. Any extension is subject to vehicle availability and payment of the applicable rental charges.

Accident or Damage

In the event of an accident or damage, the driver must:

  • Immediately notify FrenSta Car Rental
  • Notify the Traffic Police by calling 100
  • Submit the official Traffic Accident Report within 24 hours
  • Collect supporting evidence, such as photographs or videos

Failure to comply with the above will render all insurance coverage void, and the driver will be fully liable for compensating the Company.

Regardless of fault or insurance coverage, the driver will be charged a €20 accident administration fee.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance is available within Athens, Attica, and mainland Greece, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Company.

If the vehicle is located outside the agreed coverage area, the driver shall be responsible for returning the vehicle at their own expense.

Repairs

The driver, renter, or any third party is strictly prohibited from carrying out repairs to the vehicle. All repairs may only be performed by the Company or its authorised service partners.

Vehicle Cleanliness

The vehicle must be returned clean and ready for inspection.

Possible cleaning charges:

  • €15.00 for cleaning and inspection
  • €80.00 for tar removal
  • €80.00 for interior deep cleaning
  • €35.00 for cleaning a single seat, upholstery, or child seat

Pets

The transportation of animals and pets inside the vehicles is not permitted unless prior approval has been obtained from the Company.

Transport by Ferry

Transporting the vehicle by ferry is not permitted unless prior written approval has been granted by FrenSta Car Rental.

Driving Outside Greece

Taking or driving the vehicle outside the territory of Greece is strictly prohibited.

Replacement Vehicle

In the event that the rented vehicle becomes immobilised, the Company may provide a replacement vehicle within a reasonable period of time, not exceeding 24 hours, depending on vehicle availability and the location.

If the vehicle becomes immobilised due to the driver’s fault or negligence, additional charges may apply.

Personal Belongings

The Company accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to any personal belongings left inside the vehicle.

Cancellation of the Rental Agreement

The Company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement without compensation or refund if misuse of the vehicle, breach of these Terms & Conditions, dangerous driving, or violations of the Greek Highway Code are identified.
